About the Job
As a Solutions Engineer II, you will be supporting sales of predominantly Akamai solutions to diverse range of industries and logos.
You will need to be self-directed, capable of leading technical sales activities, managing the technical relationship and assuming subject matter expert responsibilities on architecture and implementation of Akamai solutions
You will possess the high levels of both business and technical acumen in understanding customer business drivers, matching those to Akamais technologies and clearly articulating complex solutions to prospective customers. Responsibilities
• Drive revenues by managing the pre-sales technical process and evangelizing Akamais technology to existing and prospective customers.
• Understand Customers business requirements, translate them to technical problems, and map them to Akamai solutions.
• Work closely with sales teams to educate existing and prospective customers about Akamais services conference calls, site visits, presentations, technical uations, technical objection handling, proposals, and follow up on all customer related issues.
• Clearly document every customer interaction, capture requirements in prescribed document format, and capture proposed solution in prescribed format.
• Ensure that customers understand the proposed solution, integration methodology, integration timeframes, and risk associated with the solution.
• Oversee customer proposal process with sales and ensure that all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are properly defined.
• Oversee delivery of projects alongside Service Delivery teams, and ensure the project is on track, and is in line with customer’s original requirements.
• Work closely with R&D and Product Management to develop future product direction and strategy - providing valuable input from "the field".
• Drive new product and service offerings.
• Support and educate Sales, Marketing and other internal departments to ensure that customers get appropriate updates, upgrades and event--oriented solutions.
• Contribute to the global SE community; participate in discussions and forums where industry trends and Akamai solutions are involved.
• Actively involved in coaching and mentoring new staff in the team, and new folks in the sales team.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fields.
• 5+ years of experience in a “customer facing” environment such as presales or consulting.
• Strong background in Internet Technologies, such as HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, web architectures, media streaming Video/Audio.
• Experience in one of below industries, public cloud, CDN, OTT, gaming, or social media.
• Master at least one of below fields, cloud security, Web application acceleration, or media delivery technology.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills appropriate to both technical and management clients.
• Excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin, both speaking and written.
